Bernard Lapasset elected the International Rugby Board’s chairman
As expected Bernard Lapasset has been elected the International Rugby Board’s (IRB) chairman, the French Rugby Federation president succeeds Dr Syd Millar, who did not seek re-election at the interim meeting of council held in Paris on Friday. The council re-elected former England captain Bill Beaumont for a second term as IRB vice chairman, while a new executive committee was also elected.
The IRB executive committee comprises: Bernard Lapasset (chairman), Bill Beaumont ( vice chairman), Mike Miller (chief executive officer), Oregan Hoskins (South Africa), David Pickering (Wales), Bill Nolan (Scotland), Peter Boyle (Ireland), Graham Mourie (New Zealand), Paul McLean (Australia) and Carlos Tozzi (Argentina).
