Portugal and Morocco will meet to decide who plays Uruguay in Repechage’1′ playoff

Following Portugal’s loss to Georgia they will now meet Morocco to decide who meets Uruguay. The next round will be the last for one side and a reprieve for the other, although we expect Uruguay to win through against either side and claim the Repechage’1′ spot in pool’C’ for RWC 2007.

$225m shortfall in funds for development of Eden Park

Georgia qualify for RWC 2007 as Europe 3

Georgia drew 11-11 with Portugal but thanks to their first leg points they win through to France 2007.  Georgia will now face Argentina, France, Ireland and Namibia in pool’D’, a real tough ask with probably their only chance being a win against Namibia.

Japan qualify for France 2007 as Asia 1

Japan beat Korea 54-0 to claim their place in RWC 2007 as Asia 1. As expected Japan beat Korea in Hong Kong in a most convincing fashion and now go to France in 2007 taking their place in pool ‘B’ where they will play Australia, Canada, Fiji and Wales.

Eden Park development is the decision for 2011 Stadium

A new waterfront Stadium did not pass the Councils in Auckland so Eden Park is top of the list for development.

Decision time in Auckland a new Stadium or develop Eden Park

The Central Goevernment has asked Auckland City and Regional Councils which they prefer a new Stadium or develop Eden Park.  The decision will be made on 23 November following feedback form Auckland residents.

Japan beat Hong Kong to move closer to France 2007

Japan beat Hong Kong by 52-3 to move one step nearer the RWC in France 2007. Next up will be Korea which will be a much harder task for John Kirwan’s team, but one they must pass to claim the place in pool ‘B’ as winners of Asia ‘1′.

Orange Appointed Official Sponsor for RWC 2007

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has announced that Orange has been appointed as an Official Sponsor for Rugby World Cup 2007. This means that Orange will supply A dedicated RWC 2007 WAP Portal for customers in Europe, Video clips from all 48 Tournament matches and a News and results service.

IRB confirm the 2011 RWC will be held in September-October
