Portugal edge a close hard fought encounter in Lisbon 16-15

Portugals hopes of qualifying for Rugby World Cup 2007 in France are still alive after recording a 16-15 victory over Morocco in Lisbon on Saturday.

With a five-point away victory, Portugal welcome Morocco to Lisbon later today as favourites to proceed through to Rugby World Cup qualifying and the final repechage round against Uruguay.
We expect a tight game as Morocco dominated possession and territory for much of the first leg in Casablanca but Portugal’s organisation saw them home.

Tonga V Korea date confirmed

The Repechage 2 qualifying match between Tonga and Korea will be played in Auckland, New Zealand on 10 February stadium to be confirmed. The winner of the match will qualify directly for Rugby World Cup 2007 and will join England, South Africa, Samoa and USA in pool A.

Morocco host Portugal on the 20th January in Casablanca. The following week on the 27th they play in Lisbon with the winner going forward to meet Uruguay for the repechage 1 spot in pool’C’ at RWC 2007 in France.
