Romania Europe 2 Qualifiers RWC 2007
Grouped with New Zealand, Scotland, Italy and Portugal)in Pool C, Romania have never progressed from the pool stage of a Rugby World Cup. In their past five world cups, they've managed 4 wins, only in 1995 did they fail to secure one and they haven't missed a world cup yet. In their European qualifying group, Romania finished second behind Italy, ensuring their position at the Rugby World Cup 2007.
In November 2001, Romania lost 134-0 to England in a game which marked the low point in their rugby history. Current coach, a Frenchman Daniel Santamans who took over in 2004 has returned Romanian rugby to its strong point; driving forward play very apt when you see their nickname of "The Oaks". Whilst encouraging the backs to use their flair and talent to exploit the forwards dominance.
Romania To Win One Game in Pool 'C'
Currently ranked 16th in the IRB's world rankings, Romania are captained by Sorin Socol, we cannot however see any way they will be able to progress past the pool stages in fact their only chance of winning a game will be against Portugal.
