Scotland Will Be In France 2007

Scotland's best Rugby World Cup performance came in 1991, when they reached the semi-finals, helped in no small part by playing all their group games at Murrayfield. They lost 9-6 to England, the other hosts, and failed to take third, losing to New Zealand in the playoff at Cardiff Arms Park. Scotland have always at least reached the quarter-finals, but have found New Zealand their bogie team, losing to them in every world cup knock-out stage, except for the loss to England in 1991 and hosts Australia last time out in 2003.

Scotland For The Quarter Finals

Captained by Jason White and showing marked improvements since Frank Hadden became head coach Scotland will fancy their chances of making it to at least the quarter finals yet again. Look out for the usual blood and thunder from the pack but expect them to be lacking all-out pace in the threequaters.

Scotland's Rugby World Cup shirtScotland have new shirts in time for the World Cup in France. Although they have kept to their usual blue the style has changed dramatically from past versions. Also as with most tier one nations it utilises all the latest technology. Pool 'C' RWC 2007

Currently ranked 11th in the world, Scotland's Quarter Final place in 2003 ensured automatic qualification for the rugby world cup in France, they'll be looking to match 1991's best ever placing by reaching the semi-finals another time. Scotland meet New Zealand, Italy, Romania and Portugal in Pool C at the Rugby World Cup 2007. We cannot see Scotland beating New Zealand but expect them to win all their other games although Italy could cause them an upset.
